Baby names

why is naming DC so difficult!

My OH and I are really struggling with names for our DC, due in SIX DAYS TIME! Yesterday I posted some name ideas which we have since gone off, everything we consider (especially boy's names) only lasts a day before we start to hate it! With girls names we are pretty much sorted, but boys names are a complete nightmare. We have come up with some more suggestions that we would love opinions on.

Arlo
Kit
Reuben
Amos
Darcy
Roman

As you can probably tell we like a mixture of traditional/uncommon names and any other suggestions would be great as we are really panicking!

Amos, Arlo and Reuben are my favourites from your list.

Arlo - like
Kit - don't like, sorry
Reuben - like
Amos - like
Darcy - too unisex and surnamey
Roman - I think of history rather than names

Don't panic, the right name to you will come eventually! Out of your names I love Arlo, Kit and Reuben. The only one I dislike is Amos. Have you considered -

Elijah
Barnany
Alo
Ralph/Rafe

I think Roman is fantastic (but would expect Russian ancestry), as is Kit (though I'd assume it was a nn). I don't really like Arlo (it always looks unfinished, somehow) but Reuben is OK. I don't like Amos - still associating it with Brierley! - and Darcy is now a predominantly girls name.

I like Arlo, Reuben and Roman best. Kit is nice but does sound a bit nickname-ish - would be fine really though. Darcy might be taken for a girl's name, not sure if that would bother you (it's sometimes spelled Darcey for a girl but not always).

Don't panic, you don't have to have the name sorted as soon as baby arrives (though I agree it's nice if you can give them a name straight away!). And maybe you'll have a girl anyway :)

BusyBee, don't worry you'll find a name in the end! From your suggestions I absolutely love Arlo and Roman but would never be brave enough to use them! Darcy is also great if you don't mind the fact that it is a unisex name. I also like Reuben - it's on my own list as a middle name. Have you started to think about first name/middle name combinations? From your list I would use Darcy Reuben or Roman Arlo.

KIT love this name...on our list!!!

The only names I don't like are Amos and Roman. But the others are lovely.

I'd go for a traditional middle name to balance it out but that's just me! Like James, Daniel, Andrew, Edward or Patrick etc

What about the likes of....Otis, Parker, Xander, Otto, Remus, Riley?? Along the right lines of way off?!?!
