Scarlett not that unusual at the moment, nor is Grace.
Willow is ok
Lucelia is different, ok but will be shortened to Lucy
Niah - prefer it without the h, tbh.

What about Elora? Crossed my mind because of Willow (the film) - she is the baby princess who saves everyone from the misery - might be appropriate?

And just so you know you have given away your entire name in this post, which you may or may not have wanted to do - most people don't tend to do that on here but if it doesn't bother you, that's fine.

Willow is lovely. Lucelia is a bit fussy in my opinion and Scarlett and Grace aren't rare or unusual. How about Lorna? Marilla?

Scarlett and Grace are nice, I like them, but fairly normal these days and willow, which I like a lot, is increasing in popularity. I would think in 5 yrs by the time your DD is starting school she wont be the only one in her year.

I know a baby Nylah which is lovely.

here is the top 100 baby names list so you can see how popular the names you like are.
Elodie is a lovely name?

I agree with other posters that Scarlett and Willow aren't uncommon.

I had to look Lucelia up, as I'd never come across it before, and it is unusual and recently coined. To me, it looks a bit like a cut and paste of Lucy and Celia and I don't think it works (sorry).

But of this is the sort of name you like, how about Lucinda, Lucia, Cecilia, Cecily, Celia, Rosalind, Miranda?

If you would shorten Lucelia to Lucy then none of your names are at all unusual. On the government website already linked to you will also be able to find a list of virtually all girls names given in the last year, ranked in order.

Ones whch I think sound nice with your surname are: Martha, Romilly, Clara/Clarice, Matilda, I prefer Lucia to Lucelia.

Scarlett is pretty popular at the moment, and I feel like I've yet to meet a girl under 3 whose middle name is Grace or May, Grace is everywhere.

Lucelia will just be Lucy, although that's not that common at the moment anyway.

I love Niah though, I know a Naya who is about 18 and I've always loved her name. Her twin sister is Siri.

Willow is a bit meh.

Agree that Elora is pretty.

Names that might fit with your taste could be:

Adelene/Adeline
Ophelia
Lavinia
Cordelia

Sorry! I've gone down a literary route there :)

PS - a huge congratulations :) We have a five-week old DD and it's the best thing ever :)

Scarlett, Grace and Willow are hardly rare are they?! In fact Scarlett and Grace are ten a penny in most areas of the country. Cecelia and Cecily are much nicer than Lucelia, and I do rather like Nyah.

Spend a bit more time with the name books, I'm sure you'll find something that fits all your desires :)

I like Willow Grace best from your list.

Lucelia sounds a bit fussy (how about Lucia?)

Nevaeh and Leynah are nice :)

All your names are actually pretty popular except Lucelia, and that sounds a bit made up which isn't a good thing. The sound is nice though!

How about Clelia? Now that IS a rare one (and a strange, arty and interesting character from a Margaret Drabble novel).

If you want a 'nature' middle name, how about Linnet?

Cecily, Cordelia, Lavinia, Cassandra, Vita, Vanessa - all pretty rare, unusual and beautiful.

Could I just add that you can never guarantee that there won't be a child of the same name, no matter how unusual, just round the corner.

We know only one Olivia but DD is at school with two x Coco.

Choose the name you like the best.

I would pick Cecelia from the ether, and Willow from your list.

As above, Scarlett and Grace are everywhere. Willow - know a few.
I thought Lyra or Lila might fit in with your choice? Pretty, not v. popular but cant be shortened like Lucelia can. (Lyra springs to mind from Northern Lights book by Phillip Pullman - strong female heroine but also sounds a pretty name in my opinion anyway!)

Hi all,

Thanks so much for all the responses, yes Ive now discounted Scarlett as too common now (just always liked it and my Mum wanted to call me it but my dad wouldnt let her :-( ), Lucelia came from an Italian website as we have a bit in my side of the family but I also found it a bit slushy (Im not so keen on such girlie names but my DH loved it, but hes pretty flexible TG)!!!

I loovee Willow still, I do realise its becoming more common but still one of my tops, and Grace also but only as a middle name as I am keen on old english names but would love some other old english suggestions as on reflection and after reading all your comments I do agree Grace is a bit over done (on that note would have loved Harper if the Beckhams hadnt snapped it up not keen on following celebs and you can bet that will be in the top 100 by next year!!), so after reading all your comments Ive rearranged some of our thoughts and

Niah Willow is my top
or Willow Niah (like it spelt this way!!)
or perhaps Willow with another middle?

We also loved but discounted perhaps wrongly
Farrah
Hermia
Really keen on strong women names and not sure if Im quite hitting it!

F x
