I am looking for something that sounds good with Sophia, but I'm not sure that my current favourite names do. Would love to hear your opinions!

Julia - can I have 2 "ia" names?
Audrey
Beth - i think I'm going off this one!

Any other suggestions?

I think 2 ia names are fine, others will disagree with me though! I'm not keen on Julia personally though, but a perfectly alright name, prefer Julianne. I like Audrey, classic and beautiful

My suggestions
Claudia
Olivia
Catherine
Isla
Elsa
Ava

Sophia is quite a wistful, elegant, romantic name to me. How about:

Rosalie
Eliza
Romilly
Grace
Natalia
Auralie

Julia - like, and it's underused. I think two "ia" names sound fine, but if you prefer different endings how about Juliet?
Audrey - not so keen
Beth - nice, and also like Bethany

How about Sophia and....

Lydia
Emily
Clarissa
Ruby
Rebecca
Xanthe
Georgina
Emma

Lis - Elsa was on my list too but dh not so keen. I still really like it tho. Catherine is a lovely, classic name, but I think there'll be loads of Catherines and Kates in the next year.

Plonker - I like Aurelie, but is it maybe a bit pretentious?

Georgia is another that I like, but, again, I'm a bit apprehensive about 2 names ending in 'ia'. However, Georgia is more of a "juh" sound than a real "ia" sounds like Sophia. So maybe they're not bad together?

Instant - Juliet is a good substitute for Julia, and I really like it, but not sure we cold pull it off - can't explain any better than that...it makes me a bit nervous Confused

Aurelie is nice, and I like Aurelia too. If you're not sure of those, how about Amelia?

Another -ia name is fine. I know sisters Sophia and Olivia.

However, the first one that came to mind was Imogen.

Aurelia is pretty too. Aurelie can end up being pronounced "Orally" - all sorts of problems with that one :(

I have 3dds, a Sophia but spelt the other way, Olivia and Anna. It was mentioned on MN before that it was "frowned upon" to have names all ending in A, couldn't care less Grin. Julia and Juliet were also on our short list, when we picked Anna.

These are great suggestions. I love Phoebe but had ruled it out as I thought the repetitive "ph" sound with Sophia was too much. We also tend to shorten Sophia to "Phia" and I could very much foresee a Phia and Phoebs situation!!

I agree about Aurelie running the risk of being pronounced like orally. Otherwise, a lovely name.

Good to hear that there's not such a problem with having 2 -ia names. wiggles, i have always sort of been in that camp of not having more than one name ending in an -a sound or an -ie sound. Now I seem to be changing my mind!

So...now thinking:
Julia
Audrey
Beth
Georgia
Juliet

Any more thoughts?
