Walter reminds me of a very weedy geek - probably bullied. Think it's due to my memories of reading my brother's Beano comic.

I would probably call a baby called Rupert, Roo but that's just me. I think it's cute but in full sounds good too.

I love both, but slightly prefer Walter, as you can use Walt for short.

I'm not keen on any of the short forms of Rupert, which lets it down slightly.

Absolutely love the name Rupert and goes well with Hugo. Not keen on Walter but I do like Winston. Have you considered Felix? Fab name.

My grandad was Walter. He was known as Wall so that would make it a no for me.

I know two Ruperts and they are both quite posh, but not excessively so! One is Rupes for short and I'm not sure the other shortens it at all. I went to school with a Rupert too (a desirable comp) and he went by Roo, which I always found quite cool. I do like it, but it is definately a bit rah. Walter is shortened to Walt surely? I like Walt!
