Doesn't do it for me, but it's a perfectly nice name.

Quite a lot of them around from age about 7 and younger.

Really dislike it, sorry.

David Cameron has used it. That's enought to put me off!

It is not a very feminine/elegant sound imo. Reminds me of American housewives for some reason (or Nancy Reagan).

I like it. It was my Grandma's name. Actually, her "real" name was Anne, but she was called Nancy her whole life. nice alternative to Annie as a nn.

Love it, always makes me think of Nancy in Swallows and Amazons, a great heroine if ever there was one :)

It's a bit flippant-sounding.

I have one. She's 4. She's great. She's lots of fun and she's feisty.

I didn't know David Cameron had a Nancy when we named her - I doubt he was on my radar much in 2006/2007 - and it might've changed my mind if I'd realised, though I can't imagine her being called anyting else.

I've met about 2 others in 5 years, though I know it's getting more popular.

Reminds me of Nancy Drew. I loved reading those books when I was a pre-teen by the way, but would never consider calling my children that.

I really like it. I imagine a feisty little girl, just like thereisalights dd.

I think it's really pretty and feminine.

Like it, my childhood friend and my American SIL are called it. Plus know one 9 year old. Think it's really underused.

Grin@ spottyrock

She's spent all day wearing very little other than pink spangly high heeled dress up shoes!

I think it sounds quite dull and goody-two-shoes ish I'm afraid.

Well I've lived with it for 34 years...... Eventually liked it. Was the only one at any school I went to. Freaked me out if I ever heard anyone else called by the same name and they were under 70. I was never too goody two shoes, although maybe dull at times..... but also rather stubborn and new my own mind.
As a little girl though, I always thought it sounded spiky. Take from that what you will!

There's a Nancy in my family, though like mimmymouse's Gran, her real name is Anne.

I really like it, but prefer it as a nickname than an official name.
