Hi would like opinions....
Baby girl due in two weeks and we are naming after nan-Kathleen on Birth cert to be known as Kitty/ Kit what middle name...to name after other nan would be Kathleen Louisa Buchanan?
Do you think something shorter would be better Kitty May/Rose? any suggestions welcome....

Kathleen Louisa is nice imo. But I would consider your surname and how well the name seems to flow with it.

Kathleen Claire
Kathleen Honor
Kathleen Juno

My first thought was Kathleen/Kitty Rose Smile

Rosemary - Kathleen Rosemary was my Nan's name.

My mum is Kathleen Anne and my Gran is Kathleen Elizabeth.

To be honest you won't use the middle name much unless you are hyphenating it so just go with whatever you like :)

Lovely name. I think Louisa is great. My own opinion is that it's nice to use the second name to honour someone. Also, just to put my tuppence in, I like the fact that you are giving her a real name (Kathleen) and not just the NN Kitty, which is lovely, but still a NN, IMO

Kathleen Louisa is lovely.

But if you want other suggestions, how about Genevieve or Carmel.

sorry lockets. I do like it but I don't necessarily think it suits an adult

I'd go with Kathleen Louisa as it sounds great. Don't worry about whether Kitty Louisa sounds right as generally middle names don't get used with the shortened form of the first name as they are usually only used on documents/formal settings. As an adult she can use any variation on Kathleen - so stick to Kitty or go for Kath etc.

love Kathleen Louisa - also think it is a nice gesture to have both nan's names. Also love Kathleen Elizabeth.

love it too. My mum passed away recently that was her name. Also name of one of my best friends. I think Kitty is beautiful too.

And when she can't sleep you can sing the old Irish Medley 'I'll take you home again Kathleen to her....'

I think it's great with Louisa.

Kathleen Louisa is beautiful, and if the other nan is worthy of the honour, I think it would be a shame to swap out Louisa for a name that 'goes' but isn't meaningful.

Lovely name, works so well together. I'm a Kathleen (not many of us around in my generation) and wish that I had used Kitty/Katy as my nickname (I use boring Kathy)
