Some lovely names, especially like Jonah for a boy.

Annalise is too similar to Elisa. Don't like Bethany or Anita. Sorry, I just don't.

Emmanuel still reminds me of the X rated porno flick, Emmanuelle.

I like all of your names except Charlie and Archie (I prefer "proper" names as my Mum would say - am obviously turning into her... Grin(

Thanks Cece.
Ok, I think I am going to drop a few then : Emmanuel, I think it sounds a bit French/European too and don't want any associations with porn!!
Dropped Annalise and Anais as they do sound too much like Elisa. Might drop Isabella if it's really popular. Dropped Abana too!

Charlie was my Grandad's name Tommy which is why it is thrown in there really and I quite like it, Archie could remind me too much of Eastenders though Confused

Boys- my favourite is Tobias, really lovely.

Family names are a great tradition, especially when they have come back into fashion, like Charlie. Definitely consider for at least a middle name. With an African surname I think you can get away with names more unusual than with a bog standard English one, don't you?

Your boys list is almost exactly the same as mine! There's not a single name on there I dislike, out of them I'd go for Jonah or Jonas (DS2 would be Jonah if DP hadn't vetoed Sad).

Out of the girls names I like Naomi best.

Personally with Elisa (whi i love by the way) i think Annalise or Anais would be too much. OUt of al the girls names on your list though i'd opt for

Elisa and Bethany or Elisa and Grace - they both sound lovely together.

As for boys Elisa and Zacharia doesn't really gel for me, how about Elisa and Zachary? I'm biased but i have a Gabriel and think Elisa and Gabriel sounds fabulous! Not sure on two E's together, but then i have two G's myself! (rolls eyes)

Out of your list i'd choose Eliza and Jonah or Elisa and Samuel - i also adore Seth too!

Good Luck!

Joel or Samuel for a boy and Isabella or for a girl

Thanks Pelvic floor glad you like them too, My DH doesnt like Jonah either :(
He said I could actually chose the name this time but then seems to dislike pretty much anything I come up with!! :(
Babe, you are right, I have taken them off the list, DH 'doesnt mind' Bethany so its a maybe, I really like Grace but he doesnt! I like Gabriel!
Fifi he also kind of likes likes Joel so that's a maybe too but doesn't like Samuel!

Does anyone have any more sort of traditional names that I havent thought of?

Adah
Dinah
Jemima
Naomi

Isaac
Jacob
Joel
Jonah
Josiah
Nathanael
Ruben
Samuel
Seth
Tobias
Zachariah

Please not Isabella, the Isabel names are everywhere at the moment, it's getting boring now. I say this as an Hispanic, and along with María and Carmen, Isabel is one of the most overused Hispanic names. Now it's becoming overused internationally.
