Names that mean 'wanted'/ 'waited for for a long time' (if you see what I mean!)

Just thinking in advance!

Title says it all really! Long relationship, been waiting for ages, seems it's going to take a lonnnnnng time to conceive! (impatience emoticon!)

Been on baby names threads for years and still not stumbled across The One!

Thanks!

Hope or Faith, although they don't literally translate as waited for a long time

Raja - means 'anticipation' in Arabic and is a boy or girl name.

Eashita - means 'wanted' in Hindi - girl

Onida -means 'the expected one' in 'Native American' (which NA language it doesn't say so I'd take it with a pinch of salt) -girl

Esperanza - means 'Hope' in Spanish - girl

Nadia - means 'Hope' in Russian - girl

Also 'Biton' means 'born after a long wait' and is apparently 'African' (I guess in much the same way Athelred & Claudia are 'European' -nice and specific).

Molly means longed for child in Hebrew (in fact all the names that come from Mary I think have this meaning). I have one, and she was a longed for child Smile and worth every BFN I had to go through to get her. It'll happen and will be totally worth the wait.

Didier (boy) means wanted
Saul (boy) - prayed-for

Desiree (girl) - desired
Wilona (girl) - longed-for
Marlise (girl) - wished-for

There's lots of names that mean "gift", either of God or otherwise. Amadore (girl), for example, means "Gift of love".

Or Amadora, sorry (Amadore can also be used for a boy, like Theodore (Gift of God).

There are a lot of Hebrew names that talk of gifts, perhaps that's an area to explore.
