Taima: A Boy or Girl's Name?

Hi

DH and i both like this name but we are worried about other peoples perseption of the name.

So if you heared the name: Taima Griffiths

Would you think the person would be a girl or a boy?

PS please answer without serching first Grin

I have only heared of it for a girl. My Huaband found the name in a baby book and its native american name for a boy meaning Thunder.

I dont think anyone would know that and just think we were mean to call a boy a girls name!

It sounds like a girl's name. Are you native american? Because if not it's also a bit pretentious.

Eric - thats what i think too but then again i called my son Aaron and i'm Welsh so we cant have everything Grin

My Husband likes American and woluld love to live there and likes the culture and we got married in America. I have family in Texas and friends in other part of the country. So i think it might work but then i agree if we are not that culture than why take a name from it!

But then again i know english people who have given their child irish names and people from India give their children English names so it swings in round abouts.

People generally assume that any name ending in a is a girl's name.
