I automatically thought of "Clarissa explains it all". Not a bad thing, was great a series imo. Even if some of Clarissa's outfits were a bit Hmm was the early 90's though...

Its Clarice Bean, and Clarice is Amerian, Clarissa is actually Latin/Greek, but to me, quite quintessentailly English.

Its a lovely name, one of the ones I wanted for DD that DH vetoed.

Oh Clarice! Generally don't prefer American things, but I do prefer Clarice to Clarissa.

My all time favourite name. Absolutely love the name.

Unfortunately DH would not agree to name. He thought it poncey.
