Any photographers in the Bournemouth area? I need one for about 2 hours from 10am on the 25th of July

I am having a really unweddingy wedding and just want someone that can take a few shots and organise 30 people for a bit. The groom is wearing jeans and I'm wearing an ordinary dress FWIW - we're really not prissy about this at all. I would like some photos of the whole group and could do with somone else barking orders at them so I can enjoy the time. The wedding is at 10am, over by 10.30 -I'd like some of me with my Grandpa when I get there and a few my family / his family everyone together shots. Whatever I get is fine if the person can send me a few samples to prove they can compose a picure that fills the space rather than just point and click at somethine miles away. The lunch is booked for 12 so whoever it is would be definately finshed by then - any takers? I've contacted the students union at the arts college in Bournemouth but heard nothing - any students about?

Heres hoping

That is quite a big ask for a freebie - sorry!

Am not in Bournemouth btw but am a photographer

gosh - not looking for a freebie! did it look like that?

I'm looking to pay for it, but pro's expect to do all day and prior to the day meetings and web sites and blah blah blah and it quickly ends up in the 1000s - quite apart from the fact that they are all booked up this close to the day with big white weddings.

I have a few hundred quid put aside.

(I don't think she's asking for a freebie, is she?)

I didn't think you were asking for a freebie.

Maybe contact a local camera club?

My friend does weddings freelance for a photographer and he pays her £180 for a few hours, then there is the cost of all the printing and photos etc so you would still be looking at several hundred pounds.

Why not ask all the guests to bring cameras and snap at each other and everyone all day, then give you their memory cards/film, you choose the ones you like best and make the album from that and maybe a collage of every one there instead of a normal group shot?

That would be pretty unweddingy set of pics

I'm not even looking for anyone who has ever been paid before - if you have an SLR and even bit of an eye for it I'll pay you for your time and kindness. As I say, whatever I get will be fine - more than anything I want all the guests in at least a few shots and that cant be done if we do a DIY job. Plus it would be nice to hand a list of the (very few) shots we want over so that I am not spending the time organising people while trying to smile.

oooh sorry

yes it did come across as asking for a freebie(to me at least)

so sorry!

What do you want from the photographer? a memory card full of all the snaps they took? A CD with pictures on(most likely edited) or prints?

We asked a friend who we knew could take decent pics to do ours, lent him our camera and he just returned it at the end of the night, it was his wedding gift to us

25th July.

I'm open to ideas. We dont need prints I dont think.

I have my own SLR btw and several 8mb cards - people are welcome to borrow them if equipment is an issue.

I am nowhere near (manchester) and have my first wedding reception in a couple of weeks(normally do stills and the DCs), if it all goes well and you still haven't found anyone i will happily do it.

Can train it to Bournemouth in the friday, meet you for chat and see what you want, then do the do on the sat.

Have my own stuff but am not a pro by a long shot-i seem to have blagged my way to selling my work somehow!!

crikey mOm - thats an amazing offer. I couldn't possibly expect you to travel that far and stay overnight - thats madness, but I am truely touched at the offer! Thank you!

sorry for delay - wandered off for a bit

seriously. I will claim a space on a MNetters floor for the night (if they are near enough-got a couple in mind). TBH i could do with the experience.

And in any case, it would be you paying the train fare Its easy enough for me to get there on train-would only take 5 hours. Have a think, am happy to send you images i have taken recently (not on my site as they are the DCs!) If you email me on mumofmonsters @ gmail dot com and i will link you to my site (i haven;t paid for an ad so can't link here-i don't want to get in trouble!)
