I have started to ake my own cards and have done some using quite dark card. Obviously it is too dark to write on so I would like to put in a liner of some sort. My quaetion is. What do you use and how do you fix it into the card?

Use a lighter, toning coloured, good quality paper. I fold and cut to size, and attach using double sided tape, to the back seem of the card.

Try using ribbons, fibres and tie around the seem too.

You can also print off wording for you inserts on the PC. Takes a bit of time (well it did for a computer idiot like me!) to get the placement right, but it's well worth it once it's done and saved for the future.

Thanks Dingle...knew you'd be out there. So just a good paper then.

try experimenting with different types too. Vellum looks very good, tricky to stick sometimes perhaps try that with the ribbon or fibres.

It doesn't need to be your typical folded insert, it could be like a little pocket or just a layer of handmade paper torn and stuck to the writing surface.

Loads of thing to try, just go with something you think is suitable for the design of the card and have fun.
