If you've got some paint and glitter you can make butterflies?

Get DD to paint in the middle of the sheet of a4, fold and create a butterfly, sprinkle on a bit of glitter and leave to dry?

little xmas trees: you cut out circles of card (pref green, else DD can colour it).
Fold into quarters, cut along one fold to the centre, overlap two of the quarters and stick - makes a sort of conical shape which can then be decorated as a tree. A couple of gold stars stuck back to back can go on top.

How about making christmas cards?

Cut out a triangle from a potato. Using green paint on white paper, print 2 triangles to make a tree. Let it dry, then sprinkle on glitter or anything else sparkly. You can then cut it out and buy some black card at a later date to stick it on.

Should take an hour or so.

Paper chains and then she can decorate her bedroom?

DD and I made some xmas decorations last week.

The ideas came from the Tesco magazine.
We just did some simple paper lanterns, a snowman, a dove and some stars all stuck together in a long drop.

We have some of those long twigs in a pot so we hung them on there.

There was also an idea to make a sweet box (bit like a gingerbread house). So I've saved a teabag box and we're going to do that tomorrow.

Paperchains is a great idea. If you don't have coloured paper, DD can either paint or use felt tips/crayons etc to make patterns up the length of the paper, then cut them into strips.

I actually cheat and staple our paperchains together because it's much quicker and less messy than glue!

yay. we are doing the same thing at home with sick DS! have just made something Mr Maker did -get the cbeebies on fold strips of card into concertina, draw around something small and roundish to make a 'bug', then let her create a creature frog/lizard / my DS has just done a chameleon (?) and stick one end of the concertina paper to its mouth and the other to the bug.

i also like the christmas cards idea

what about doing a star picture, any cut out or stick on stars on black or dark blue paper? we still have one framed that DS did when he was two...ahhhh...

we are also making stuff to go on the christmas tree, and potato / sponge printing on tissue paper to wrap small gifts in.
