Felted wool help please

I have intructions to make a quilted & embroidered needle case, for which the list of materials required lists felted wool. I keep googling, but can't find anything that seems to fit this description, other than felt made of wool. So just wondering whether felt made of wool is the same as felted wool?

For context, the felted wool is (I think) for the "pages" of the needle case. The book is by an Australian writer (so it may be that felted wool is sold under a different name in UK).
