What are your favourite crochet blankets?

Hi,

I started to crochet a few months back and have been working on my first granny square blanket. I'd like to have another project on the go that's a bit different. What are your favourite crochet blankets to make? I've looked at a few - ripple, granny stripe, C2C. I attempted a C2C, but it went a bit wrong. Any patterns that you particularly like?

Thanks!

Ooh following for ideas!

My fall back is granny stripe as it is quick and easy, but I do like a ripple. I made a huge one as my second ever blanket, but after it being in use during a sickness bout DH put it on a 90degree wash and ruined it <whimper>. That was 18months ago nearly and I am only just able to get round to making a new one (the Attic24 moorland, with a neat wave pattern so that one is new to me).

Don't think I really answered your question there, sorry! Granny stripe smile

I'm doing attic 24 cosy stripe at the moment and I have this one lined up next

Thanks! They all look good.

Too many lovely blankets, not enough time to just sit around with my hooks!

This is my favourite but it's a long, challenging project. I'm toward the end of a merino version of this blanket in multi colors but Oh my god, it's frustrating. I keep going wrong and retreating to my moorland attic 24 blanket.

I think I might attempt the Attic 24 cosy stripe, having had a look at them all this evening. I like a clear word and photo pattern, and that one seems to fit the bill.

Love the spice of life one though. I'm just not sure I'm confident enough for that yet, looks a bit scary!

I made a blanket out of African Flower squares, using the Attic 24 coastal pack (stylecraft special dk from Wool Warehouse), and I am thinking of doing it again, using the Attic 24 original pack.

The other option for the Original pack is the Mystical Lanterns blanket.

Watching with interest. I did an intro to crochet and haven't done any since. I need something stupidly simple!!

flowers in the snow is a nice easy one if you want to do squares, but there are a lot of ends to sew in! I did a huge double bed size one last year with the attic 24 cottage garden pack and edged them in parchment rather than white (sort of flowers in the slush, rather than flowers in the snow!)

I didn't make this (well, I made the baby!) but this is my absolute favourite blanket ever. So beautiful 😍

I absolutely love this one (my link), scroll down to see the finished blanket.

I will admit to not having actually finished one but I've got one on the go and one you've done a couple of circles/squares it's pretty easy.

I really like the Attic24 ripple as well, I've got one of those on the go too blush

That blanket is gorgeous cornflake - it reminds me of bubbles!

Watching with interest. This is an inspirational thread. I can crochet but haven't ventured far from granny squares.

Blankets are one my favourite things to make.

I lovegranny stripes because they are really quick to work up and everyone looks so different depending on colours, I also love ripple ones are they are usually just made up treble crochets so also work up quickly. I couldn't pick a favourite to make, but my favourite to own is a massive granny stripe my gran made me 30 years ago. when I'm feeling shit I like to snuggle under it and it feels like my gran is hugging me, soppy I know. I also love watching my Daughter play or snuggle with it and wonder how my Gran would have felt knowing that when she made it for 7 year old me that my children would love it just as much.

I like to make double bed sized blankets and usually have two on the go, but at the moment I'm only working on this flower in hexagon blanket, I started it a few years ago and was just adding to it With scraps from other projects but then I realised all the red flowers would be concentrated in one are and I wanted them scattered so it was out on hold until I had a nice variety of scraps for the flowers. I reckon I've got enough now so I'm focusing on that.

You join as you go so no sewing them all together at the end and I'm crocheting over all ends as I go so minimal sewing in at end smile

Heeeelllllllllllloooooooooooo. Is this the longest hello ever? Takes about three breaths but I'must not as fit as I once was.

I've just started to crochet and made this from different designs based on granny squares. I want to try a wavy stripe one next

My MIL crochets and these are her latest blankets.

She keeps trying to teach me but I can't get my head around it - I can knit but can't crochet sad
