I have made a jersey Raglan t- shirt for my nephew's 2nd birthday, using fabrics to co-ordinate with some baggy trousers I made. I decided to use a scrap of a co-ordinating jersey to form a neckband, but now I've stitched it on (with overlock stitch), and top-stitched it, I've realised that there is no way it will now fit over his head! Help!
I think I have also got the stretch of the neckband running in the wrong direction, which doesn't help.
How can I rescue this top? Is there a way of cutting a slit down the centre back to add in a popper, even though the top is already finished at the head end? I have also never used poppers yet... Or should I make some form of opening along the back raglan sleeve seam? Or is there some much easier way altogether of resolving this? Should I just cut off the neckband (and the super-tiny top stitch?)
Help! Thanks
