Crochet baby blanket for beginner

Having spent ages knitting for a family member, I am really behind with my makes for my baby. I am a really slow knitter, and from what I can see from other people, crochet seems faster. I've got hooks and taught myself the basics.

Are there any really simple but pretty baby blanket patterns I could try? I'll have around 15 weeks once I've finished the last few things for my family. I'd love to wrap my baby in something is made.

Can you do uk trebles? Star blankets are really easy but make up quickly and are really effective. I'll see if I can find a picture. If you can follow a crochet diagram it'll be b even easier

Crochet is much faster. I'm a recent convert from knitting and taught myself. I just made this blanket. It's easy but looks impressive and grows quickly. I used grey, white and navy blue of a crepe double knit and it was gorgeous. www.angelfire.com/va3/heartfeltangels/littlestarafghan.html

If you're on Facebook have a look at the ''chit chat and crochet" - really friendly and helpful :-)
