It's not quite long enough for dd1...could I add a third layer of net somehow?

I've done two layers, one 12" long and a 6" piece stitched half way up the 12" piece if that makes sense.

I can't figure out where to put a third, slightly longer piece, if it'll work...or whether to unpick (please don't say unpick Grin ) and start again with an 18" piece of net to attach the other layers to Confused

Any ideas?Smile

Add a ruffled frill to the bottom?

possibly, but the bottom had two layers which is what has me confused...the bottom is thicker than the top layer (sorry, can't think of a better way to describe it) and I don't know if it'll make a difference to how it hangs.

Do you want the net to show? If you do, put a running stitch along the top of the net, assuming it's about double the width of the layer above and gather. Join together the two edges of net and sew together. Ease out the gathers so they are even and pin to the side seams, pin at the front and pin at the back. When you are happy with the gathers put in pins all the way round and stitch together. Not sure if it makes sense.

Yes! It makes sense after reading a few times! Thank you so much.

I'll get it finished off in the morning now I know what to do with it.
