Toy stuffing

I'm a newbie knitter looking to make some small Easter bunnies for my baby nieces. I've found a (hopefully) easy pattern, but just specifies "stuffing".
Is this something that's generic, or do I need to look for something specific? They are likely to chew the toys, so would that make a difference?
Thanks very much for any advice

Buy a bag of polyester toy stuffing, just make sure that it's washable and has the proper fire retardant labelling.

Thank you.

I hadn't even thought of fire retardant!
Will have a google

I think the safety standards are the main points to look for, look for things like CE and BS standards.

Dunelm does a beautiful soft toy stuffing, although you may end up with quite a big bag!

I was going to say Dunelm too Grin it is a massive bag but it's very soft and I haven't had any escaping stuffing / choke hazards from it yet and some of the toys have had quite the bashing. It's also machine washable friendly.
Using up the stuffing gives me a nice excuse to knit more silly toys that amuse me Blush

Would never had thought of Dunelm. Great idea.

Not sure I need a large bag, I'm just making a couple of bunnies! But soft, washable and safe sounds good.

Zommers, what toys do you make? Could you link to any in case I get the toy bug?
Thanks

get the big bag - then its all ready and waiting for the next projects! Grin Grin Grin
I just tend to google random things plus "knitting pattern" depending on whatever the kids are into. its hit and miss but you can find some belters that way. I have a minion pattern printed out from stana's critters that looks good, but havent had the time yet Angry
