Tshirts and fabric pens

Hi, was thinking of starting a sideline for at craft fairs. Was thinking of using a plain white tshirt and fabric pens and letting the children design their own tshirt. Would you let your child do this and how much would you expect to pay please? Or would you prefer a canvas for them to draw on, or a tote bag? Any ideas/ pricing ideas would be greatly appreciated x

To be honest I probably wouldn't, my younger children would scribble on them and they would never be worn, my older children wouldn't wear them either. I'd be more inclined to do a bag than a t-shirt but wouldn't pay more than a couple of pounds, you can get small canvasses from poundland so I wouldn't do that at a craft fare either. These things can be done so cheaply at home where there is more time and space.

I would be more likely to buy a t-shirt with their names on them done by an adult so it looks good enough to wear. If there were some designs, peppa pig, fireman sam, hello kitty etc then I'd pay for that and my childs name, probably up to £10 depending on the design.

Thank you so much for your input. That makes a lot of sense. Good to have a different perspective. Thanks again x

I echo Angels points, but would take it a step further -

As artsy folk, we regularly do this sort of stuff at home - I have given up - when younger DD would never wear the finished tee, or use the bag etc - now older & very able to make a much better job of the design/artwork shes way too "cool" to even contemplate such things, her friends are the same & have been that way since about 8, so I suspect you might be wasting your time - sorry

Have you thought about posting this in chat though ?? You might get more traffic & as this is arts & crafts, I wonder if we perhaps aren't the target market - over in chat might give you a better feel for your idea
