I like star stitch pattern. This one (see the 2nd link) is slightly different from the ones I've seen online. I've tried to crochet the original star stitch pattern but find it hard to understand the third row. See the picture www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-star-stitch/

Here is the stitch I would like to learn to crochet.

Many thanks for help.

I think it is called something like "catherine wheel" rather than star stitch.

It looks like the edging in this beanie hat. The instruction are written in US terminology but were really easy to follow.

What is it you want to crochet in this stitch?

Thank you so much ladies. NotADragonOfSoup Mon, it does indeed look like a catherine wheel stitch. Just have checked it in google images.
TheWoollybacksWife, I will try the pattern tomorrow. I would like to crochet a pillow cover. I was thinking of using this stitch in one colour or may be even in three colours. I have to practice first as I am not good at reading crochet instructions without detailed pictures.

I like this pillow cover but the catherine wheel looks unfinished or imperfect. There are gaps which I do not like. I think something is missing there.

From looking at the chart, I think it's where the chains are. I'm not sure how you could remedy that easily.

I have tried this pattern and yes, this is the little chain of three which makes this gap. Some pictures of catheterine wheel do not have a visible gap though.
This pattern is very tricky. I might go for another pattern for my pillow cover.

Phone malfunction usually causes a double posts, a hiccup in the data transfer.

Have you tried searching YouTube for tutorials?

Thank you PurplePidjin. Did not know this thing about the phones.
I have phund on youtube the star stitch. I could not understand the written pattern and I am very glad that there was a video on youtube with fairly clear instructions. I will do the same with catherine wheel.
