Hot water bottle cover - VERY EASY pattern please!

Could anyone recommend a free pattern for a hot water bottle cover please? I've registered with Ravelry and looked at others online and yes, there are some lovely cable-y etc ones, but I am a complete knitting novice and need:

Use 2 knitting needles, not a circular needle
Just plain & purl knitting (is it called stocking stitch or moss stitch?) or something similar
No cables or fancy bits (not just yet!)
Holes for ribbon at top or drawstring

I can decorate with felt applique/buttons etc so simply need an easy basic pattern. I hope MN knitters can help me :)

Oh no, no responses from all you crafty people :(
Should this go in Chat for more "passing trade" ?

Can help you make one of fleece, if you get no joy.
It is lemon squeezy and only needs two seams.

Wierd, I have been looking for one for months that didn't involve a quantum loop or whatever to knit the neck. And I found one yesterday!:

www.knitrowan.com/designs-and-patterns/patterns/jessie

You do have to register with the site though but it is free. And rowan is a reputable pattern brand.

It is knit flat in three pieces and has 3 button holes, but that is as complex as it gets. I'm not going to knit the intasia heart and just do it in a nice wool, but the pattern does look easy enough.

I haven't checked out the pattern but this is on the same site and looks easy:

If you are doing them for gifts these are the cheapest hot water bottles I could find:

Thank you - although I'm still looking for a pattern with ability to have some nice ribbon at drawstring neck!

The hot water bottles from Amazon are good value too, but my local small town Lloyds Pharmacy has them on offer at £2 each, even better :)

Yes, Ethelb the ribbon top is lovely but the bit about "using a twisted rib, which sounds so much more complicated than it really is and a moss/seed stitch frame to emphasise your Swiss darning" worries me - what on earth is swiss darning?

Please keep looking for really BASIC patterns - I'm doing the same still !

You could not do the swiss darning. But it is v simple, you stitch the image on over the top. Lots or tutorials online. More like embroidery tbf.

Do a rib rather than a twisted rib (k2,p2) and moss/seed stitch is (k1,p1). And you could leave that bit out so you just have a plain hotwater bottle.
