Questions about painting on canvas........

I'm thinking about attempting to paint some canvas pictures..

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy a decent and reasonably priced supply of acrylic paint (400ml size preferably)

  • square canvases (12inx12in)
  • and I'm also looking for felt letters about 2inches high and can't find any online anywhere....

If you have any ideas of where i should be looking for these please let me know (i've already tried Hobbycraft but wasn't too keen on their own paint, canvases were expensive and couldn't find any felt letters)
TIA

For the canvas, you should try The works, discount book shops, it's not the quality for a budding Monet, but it's very good for the cheap price! Loads of shapes and sizes. Acrylic, you should go to an independent art shop, but if that's a bit to expensive, try whsmiths, not best quality, but you sometimes get a by one get one free on there tubes and it's nice bright and thick. Can't help with felt letters, but it might be cheaper buying felt in sheets from John Lewis and cutting your own out?

Do you have a Tiger Tiger store near you? They stock reasonably priced canvas on frames. They have a website - I think there is a link to the uk site via tiger.dk

There's a company called the Clever Baggers who sell various paints and stick on decorations for canvas, albeit canvas bags. I'm not sure whether that will be any use to you but as you seem to be having trouble finding the stuff you want in ordinary hobby shops, it might be worth a try.
Anyway, good luck!
