Hi Everyone.

I had an amnio yesterday( 15 weeks 2 days) and waiting for results. Super nervous. This is my first baby, I am turning 27 soon.
I would like to hear some positive stories after someone got a high risk category on a test result, and they had a healthy baby after that.
My results were: This was taken when I was 13 weeks 4 days.
hcgb: 45.3 ng/mL 1.29 MoM
NT: 3.7 mm 1.99 MoM
PAPP-A: 5166 mU/L 1.05 MoM

I got a high result for Down syndrome 1:87.

Thank you everyone!

Hi Sylvia,

Sorry I do not yet have a positive story but I am in a similar position to you so wanted to offer some support whilst we wait. ❤️

I am 27, 16 weeks with my first baby and was given a risk of 1:101 I opted for the NIPT instead so on day 2 of the wait. If it helps I have read a lot of positive stories on here and Babycentre of women who have been given high risk with the NHS screening tests but have then come back low risk.

Sending you lots of love x

Hi,
The wait is horrible... They said to me 3 days for the first results and then 10-14 days for the rest. Did you have a NHS screening as well, what were your reasults, if I can ask? I just never thought this could happen with us, cos you mostly hear these things happen with 35+, it was a total shock for us. And my stress level since we know this is horrible.

Good luck for both us

I had the Quad test last week at 15 weeks which was just based on my bloods. I am not sure the exact figures but they said my high HCG levels flagged it up.

I know ☹️ I think it is the shock initially and then the anxiety that follows I have been signed off work as I work in the ante natal service too so would find it very difficult to be around babies at the moment.

Hope we both get good results ❤️

@Sylvia24
Your blood work isn’t really indicative of DS. Usually PAPPA less than 1 and HCG more the 2 is the indicators with bloodwork. Do you happen to be overweight and a smoker?
With the screen they put a load of information into a system that pops out this number, in your case 1:87

I’m 34 with PAPPA .24 HCG 6.87 my number came back as 1:4

I went straight to amnio per the recommendation of the doctors and everything has come back clear. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Despite your risk still being rather low and not the typical markers, I know the stress of the wait is really hard. Do know I’ve been following threads in here since March when my journey started and I’ve seen miles more stress than bad news
