Harmony Test

Hi Ladies
I did The Harmony Test on Thursday evening.
I am 42, my screening results gave me a 1 in 20 chance of DS.
At my 20 week scan they couldn’t find the nasal bone. I was then referred to Fetal Medicine. They confirmed no nasal bone on one side, very little bone on the other, a short femur and a protruding tummy that may lead to a bowel blockage.
At my Harmony Test, I had a scan and the lady said she was happy with all measurements but they don’t look for the nasal bone. I left confused because of my previous scan.
Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar journey.
I now have the long wait for the results and I’m trying to keep an open mind, know that I will love my baby whatever, but is hard to be strong all the time.
Jo

Hi jo, no real advice but I have my harmony test tomorrow and then results take 3-5 working days from there. I’m 29, my 12 week scan showed a NT measurement of 3.4, my bloods weren’t out by all that much, so scary, Iv done nothing but cry since they rang me yesterday and told me I have a 1 in 15 chance of my baby having downs Syndrome X

Hi Chloe
Thanks for your message.
I had a friend who was given a 1 in 4 chance of Down’s syndrome and went on to have a healthy baby. I also know of people who have been given a really low risk but then went on to have a Down’s syndrome baby so unfortunately the screening blood test is just not reliable, I hope that may be of some reassurance to you.
I have been told that they don’t consider the nuchal fold to be a concern if it is below 3.5 so you may be absolutely fine. I’m sure like me, the waiting game for the Harmony Result is exhausting. My heart leaps every time the phone rings.
My thoughts are with you and I hope your Harmony Test comes back all clear. Thanks for getting in touch.
Wishing you all the best.
Jo

Hi jo. Yes it went as well as it could, they were really nice. NT measurement was 3.3 so slightly less. Baby was in an awkward position yet again! She couldn’t see a nasel bone but she said it was probably because of the position but of course I am worried about that too. She said everything else was good, heartbeat, size etc. I’m finding it so hard to get through normal life while waiting for these results. When do you think you will get yours? I hope it is good news for you. I should have mine by next Tuesday/Wednesday

The last yesterday also said to me they don’t look for the nasel bone anymore, just like they said to you, confusing!

Hi Chloe
That’s great about your 3.3 and positive scan. I had my Harmony Test done a week ago today so it’s driving me nuts not knowing. They said result would be 10 to 14 days so don’t think i’ll hear until next week. Will keep you posted. Work and Love Island is keeping me going 😂 proper trash telly before bedtime. I hope you get your results soon. Thinking of you, good to chat to someone who is going through the same emotions as me, it’s tough!
Fingers crossed for you.
