Any hope?

Not sure if this is the right place but here goes...
After a long period of secondary infertility I found out I was preg. Lots of symptoms but started spotting at about 5.5 weeks. I've now had a scan which shows a 21mm sac and nothing else. This has me at 6.6 weeks. I've been told there is a 99.5% chance this is a MMC but still for a rescan in a week.
My hcg is 61000 odd and I'm having another in a couple of days. Should I give up all hope? It feels pretty hopeless to me.
Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry I don't think I can give this a good enough answer as I've not experienced a scan after belle ding. I had a miscarriage some time ago which started with v.light bleeding . I think I knew it was mc from the but I remember needing and wanting the final stage as confirmation so that I could start to process what had happened and the sadness. The wait for that was awful. I hope yours is different, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're going through this and the wait in limbo must be just awful. Hope you're bearing up as ok as you can be right now x

I'm sorry you are having such a worrying time.

Do you think 6+6 sounds about right for your dates? It's very early to see anything useful on a scan as often the fetal pole and heartbeat often isn't visible until after 7 weeks.

If it's any reassurance, I had a massive bleed at 5+3 and assumed the worst but a scan showed it was a subchorionic hematoma which is apparently really common in 1st trimester. I carried on spotting with intermittent bleeding and sharp cramps for weeks but all was well and I'm now 18 weeks. When I was scanned at 5+4 all they could say was that there was still a sack there that looked roughly the right size for my dates, it wasn't until 7 and a bit weeks that I was re-scanned to show the sac was still growing and the fetal pile was present.

I found this site useful for looking at measurement averages:

Good luck x

Thanks. Scan today 7 + weeks. No fetal pole at all. Hcg 72000 and rising which now apparently makes them concerned for a molar. Medical management tomorrow. It's just fucking bollocks. If anyone has any useful links to get me through the next few days I'd appreciate it...
