yanbu. There's chimney sweeping too. Someone on here said they knew an old relative who used to tie the children to the dining table so she could do housework. Shouldn't laugh, but I can see where they are coming from .

'Children should be seen and not heard, and whenever possible, not seen either.'

Everyone could afford to be SAHM (if they wanted to) if we could all get our children to clean chimneys or work down t'mill.

I think these Victorians were on to something with their parenting techniques.

I just don't want to EXPLAIN anything anymore. I'm losing my voice.

Get out of the kitchen. NOW or I will BEAT youu.

Stop whining or I'll lock you in a cupboard.

If I catch you playing with toothpaste again, um I've run out of threats.

Well the Victorians had coal sheds that they could lock up naughty urchins in.

Bring back coal sheds!

DH was doing that last night. He f*cking had me frightened let alone the DC

But we need to do something drastic with DS#2 atm. DH admitted he loses it with him sometimes and actually smacked him last week - something he always swore he would never do and never has before

In my next life (think it may be to late for the current DCs) my children are going to obey me,and their Father, instantly and without question.
And they are going to eat up the bread and milk,or bread and butter (or jam - but of course not both) without moaning.

Just 2 more weeks,just 2 more weeks!

lol

Totally agree. I've always tried 'positive parenting' but seem to have ended up with uppity children with far too many opinions. I just want them to do as they are told. Now.
