AIBU?

to send my DS to nursery so I can stay in bed and eat ice cream?

I've got a horrible throat infection that isn't going away - everything hurts and my glands are the size of golf balls. Usually I work a half day on Fridays so DS goes to nursery for the morning and I pick him up at lunchtime, but I've taken the day off sick so it would mean walking into town to pick him up.

Therefore I have sent him in to nursery and booked him in for the afternoon as well so that DP can pick him up when he finishes work, and so I can stay in bed and try and get better. DS will surely have a better time at nursery than with a knackered achy mum who groans every time she moves...won't he?

But I feel so guilty and the house is so quiet...I miss him...

YANBU, you are ill, need to recouperate (sp?)and have got a way to acheive that. Don't feel guilty, he will be happier doing lots of fun activities, rather than being with an ill parent.

Hope you get better soon.

Guilt is a wasted emotion. It serves no one. So put it aside and focus on more important things - like what flavour ice cream and is it Carte D'Or?

Get well soon.

YANBU He will get all he needs at nursery and be entertained without it making you ache anymore and he will more than likely love his day. Snuggle down eat the ice cream, snooze and watch crap daytime telly!

Yanbu at all. My DS has just gone to his childminder even though I'm not in work because I would have to pay her anyway if i kept him home, he WANTS to go (he loves her) and I get to tidy the house uninterrupted, nd have lunch with my dad who cannot get out much, so BIG treat for Dad.

You sound like you are are great mum who probably gives DS a lot of attention normally so no guilt needed.

There are days when I wish DS had a childminder so I could do the same

But I'm a SAHM so I can't really justify it
