because my land rover randomly shed one of its back wheels the same day I noticed it had 3 completely bald tyres and I haven't got the ££££££££ yet have to collect and pay for it now? right now? argh!

Get yourself a nice small car, less trouble.
I'm really shocked at how much 4X4 tyres cost.
Cheaper to just trade it in than try to sell it.

ahhhh thank you! I was just thinking 'nobody should have to go through this alone' and now there are biscuits/cakes, chocolate AND a puppy to help me through! my favourite things!

Towing aside, I pile the land rover high with dogs then take them out to exercise and socialise them for work - I need an off-roader with a fair bit of room, a discovery or similar would be ok but the wear and tear on the interior would be heartbreaking. And I LOVE that heap of rusty junk, with all its problems, somehow I am pathologically attached to it. Like one of those co-dependent relationships!

oh dear, I have similar woes with my autmatic 2.2 espace, throttle & electrics very dodgy and only does 19mpg at best when not cold weather or using air con hence very sad at having to get something newer.

Can you not ride your horse with dogs following - thus dealing with all your problems at once. See the Landy and buy some more hay for the horse! See - a solution!

DH treated himself to a quiet rock under the table yesterday - his Citroen Picasso (bought because we've got three under 2 and it was a necessary evil for the car seats) almost blew up wednesday. Bloody thing is practically new, only had it 7 months and this is the second time it's gone bang. I gave him beer and left him to it I'm all heart.

My DH wants a LandRover - but possibly doesn't want to be forewarned off all it's 'ishooos' .

I am told that 4*4 trucks (Toyota et al) are more reliable - that said, the farmer next door rounds his sheep up with a Rover 200

I was all set to muck it out and sell it, and my little car, and combine the proceeds of the two to get a newer landy but I love THIS ONE despite everything. Once you're hooked you've had it really, there is no way back!
