because my land rover randomly shed one of its back wheels the same day I noticed it had 3 completely bald tyres and I haven't got the ££££££££ yet have to collect and pay for it now? right now? argh!

aibu or just plain stupid to persevere with that wanked out pile of crap?

I am having a small cry blush

we need to buy a newer MPV I am having a small cry about the amount we have to spend on another oldish well used car.

I got some of slightly questionable provenance blush for about 1/4 of the normal price.

I think I have to sell that pile of junk.

Anyone want it? Also needs steering box and gear box soon. Pic on profile.

It astonishes me how few people are interested in my land rover woes grin

am lonely under my table though

<<Passes a cup of tea and a plate of Tunnocks Teacakes to MitchyInge under her diningroom table and sends the puppy in to amuse her.>>

Get yourself a nice small car, less trouble.
I'm really shocked at how much 4X4 tyres cost.
Cheaper to just trade it in than try to sell it.
I'll pass you a nice box of chocolates to eat under the table smile

Ripeberry Thu 23-Jul-09 11:35:17

just looked at your profile, forget about small car, you are going to need some kind of 4X4 for your horse (lovely animal by the way)

MitchyInge Thu 23-Jul-09 11:46:15

ahhhh thank you! I was just thinking 'nobody should have to go through this alone' and now there are biscuits/cakes, chocolate AND a puppy to help me through! my favourite things!

Towing aside, I pile the land rover high with dogs then take them out to exercise and socialise them for work - I need an off-roader with a fair bit of room, a discovery or similar would be ok but the wear and tear on the interior would be heartbreaking. And I LOVE that heap of rusty junk, with all its problems, somehow I am pathologically attached to it. Like one of those co-dependent relationships!

today's trauma is that I picked it up last night, bankrupting self, and have a flat already

2 hours late for work and cannot face grappling with my 'sometimes works sometimes catastrophically doesn't work' jack

not that I can actually lift the spare by myself anyway

blush

oh dear, I have similar woes with my autmatic 2.2 espace, throttle & electrics very dodgy and only does 19mpg at best when not cold weather or using air con hence very sad at having to get something newer.

claricebeansmum Thu 23-Jul-09 16:26:20

Can you not ride your horse with dogs following - thus dealing with all your problems at once. See the Landy and buy some more hay for the horse! See - a solution! grin

claricebeansmum Thu 23-Jul-09 16:26:52

Sell the Landy I meant.

Any of those teacakes left?

MitchyInge Fri 24-Jul-09 00:27:40

Oh sorry, I scoffed the lot blush! Great ideas though - except would sell the Landy and get another horse or two for when they go lame.

Good luck cargirl!

DH treated himself to a quiet rock under the table yesterday - his Citroen Picasso (bought because we've got three under 2 and it was a necessary evil for the car seats) almost blew up wednesday. Bloody thing is practically new, only had it 7 months and this is the second time it's gone bang. I gave him beer and left him to it smile I'm all heart.

stealthsquiggle Fri 24-Jul-09 15:36:48

My DH wants a LandRover - but possibly doesn't want to be forewarned off all it's 'ishooos' wink.

I am told that 4*4 trucks (Toyota et al) are more reliable - that said, the farmer next door rounds his sheep up with a Rover 200 hmm

MitchyInge Fri 24-Jul-09 19:10:17

I was all set to muck it out and sell it, and my little car, and combine the proceeds of the two to get a newer landy but I love THIS ONE despite everything. Once you're hooked you've had it really, there is no way back!
