AIBU?

To think Katie Price is maybe a liar

She was 10 weeks pregnant and there was no heart beat and the doctor said she still might be pregnant!!!! Er i think if theres no heartbeat at 10 weeks the doctor would know. Hcg levels take 48 hours to come back not 3 days as well - get your facts right Miss Price. Plus if you are having a threatened miscarriage you do not play polo and do a marathan 24 hours after a termination!!!

There's already a thread running about this!

I don't think it's nice to speculate about that. The thing I didn't like was her referring to it as a 'termination'. I have a friend who had a similar problem, and when the form was brought to her to sign before the procedure she was absolutely devestated when it said 'termination', she made them cross it out and put ERPC

lots of kp threads tonight.....

I agree I thought it odd she would go off to play polo having been told there is no heart-beat...

Must say I was a bit at : Dr said, "it's gone. We can terminate tonight". D&C maybe, but terminate a lost baby? When I MC the GP just told me to go home. Very strange.

Oh I see, awful the terms they use. Very inaccurate and hurtful it seems, like using "abortion" for a MC

Yes agree d&c not termination. I have had 2 miscarriages and you would not play polo with a threatened miscarriage and didnt she say she did the marathan 24 hours after the 'termination' - that is a load of shit

Ten weeks seems to be a magical PR device in that it is before the time when anyone would announce a pregnancy but late enough to garner sympathy. Also too early for doctors to refute it or for pictures to show any evidence of a bump.

Didn't St Jade have a MC at ten weeks (in retrospect) around the time of something going wrong for her image?

I dont think she's lying, even she wouldn't stoop that low

According to the other thread PA is doing an interview on This Morning so no doubt he will be asked. Seems to be no love lost so she would be a fool to lie about something like this as surely he will be asked about it.

I have had a mc. I have been pg twice. i ran the same marathon she ran. utter, utter, utter bollocks.

Bloody hell

I miscarried at ten weeks and told people - not to garner sympathy or because there was something wrong with my image

but because I was devastated and wanted my friends and family to know.

Maybe she's just saying what life was like for her - she was being interviewed.

Just have to add to this. My hcg results took 4 days! And I was told, (at 9 weeks) "well there is no hb, but we can't be sure that the dates are accurate, I may be less far along, so come back next week."

Love the nastiness to your post. Rather than wonder if she is making it up for sympathy, it's all "Err" and "Get your facts right".

You may not play polo or run a marathon after, but how dare you suggest that no-one else can!

From what I ahve read today Pete is aghast that this was discussed as its private

Enough for me to believe tbh- not sure what point of doubting is anyway

completely agree with stretch. having been through this sort of investigation with a suspected ectopic, her account is completely realistic IME. HCG levels are taken 48 hours apart - so completely reasonable for them to come back at day after the second test.

I don't really care if she is lying or not, it is none of my business and none of yours tbh.
Fair enough, she lives her life through the media but speculating about another woman's miscarriage is pointless and nasty. We don't know the full facts, you certainly don't, so this speculation and bile is pointless.

YABU

The woman is a robot, so of course she would be able to do the marathon so soon after a miscarriage.

How nasty and horrible. Go and bury your head in a copy of Heat, or better still, the National Enquirer.

I can only assume you have never been in a similar position.

i don't doubt her. they do often measure hcg twice in the week following a suspected mmc, just to make sure.

and fwiw, i do consider my own d&c (though they now call it an ERPC) a termination of my pregnancy. up until my mmc was removed i was still pregnant.

oh, and i wasn't bleeding THAT much after mine, less than a normal period so could, in theory have run afterwards, though i wouldn't have.

Nasty OP

Do you have nothing better to do than gossip about some celeb's unfortunate life

KIMItheThreadSlayer · 14/07/2009 16:15

I think this should have been kept private, I think touting a lost baby over the trash mags and TV is vulgar
