i hate it too. I don't mind it comfortably warm with a light breeze but when it's 200 degrees of blazing sun on the skin and walking 200 yards feels like walking 200 miles it makes it worse.

Can't wait to go to work tonight just to sit somewhere that has air con.

Try being 9 months pregnant, melting in your living room with all the windows open and unable to go outside for longer than a minute otherwise you will be struck down by hayfever! ARGH!

YANBU!!!!

What I am finding as annoying as the unbearable is heat is the idiots who say 'some people are never happy, they moan about the cold, now they're moaning about the heat'

I feel like shouting at them 'yes you fools, I don't want it boiling hot no more than I want it freezing cold'. Why is it so hard to understand that we want a heat we can live happily and uncomftably with?

sorry, rant over

ssd - "crabbit cow"

Totally describes me today!

Luckily keen and bored on holiday 16 year old came over an hour ago and "wondered" if she could take my kids swimming ..... (think she was looking for an excuse)

Hoooooooooray!

It is not hot until the tar on the road has gone soft.

I'm so happy that it's raining here now. Heavy rain too. I'm tempted to go outside and dance about in it.

Report
MrsMattie · 02/07/2009 14:46

I love it, but commuting to work and back on the tube in London when it's 32 degrees outside is ming.

Report
Thunderduck · 02/07/2009 14:50

Ok forget the dancing. It's like someone is emptying out a thousand buckets of water at a time.

I hate it now I'm older and have signifcant norkage

a) you have two in-built hot water bottles strapped to your chest

b) it's impossible to look remotely elegant and Gok yourself in this weather - I would die of suffocation if I donned concrete underwear and spanks today - so it's all hanging out and I'm frightening the neighbours ...

Countingthegreyhairs · 02/07/2009 14:53

er, I think that should have been span-x

dh was in singapore last week, right on the equator, and he says it's been hotter here this week than it was there.

Can I just add that sweat has just rolled down into my fucking eye [grr].

This is minging and because of our boiler we can't have a shower installed. I hate waiting for a bath to run just so I can feel a little cleaner. I feel dirty, sweaty and smelly.

YANBU - I am preggers with horrific sickness and a 3 year old - I am officially Britain's grumpiest woman today. Although I threw up in the stifflingly hot doctor's waiting room and that seemed quite a good technique for getting seen quickly. It's just TOO hot.

I'm so tired of it.

Bring on winter

Trick for the swollen feet, put legs up with cold wet flannels over then. it will cool them and reduce the swelling although refressing the flannels a couple of times is needed

I hate this weather but love the light levels that are associated. Loving the benefit of ds who has the paddling pool out -freezing water of course and i armed him with water pistols. Half an hour outside and hour inside. He is playing with scaletrix track and i have a few minutes peace. I am dreading the promised scones for tea -can think of better things then using the oven in this heat.

I hate it too. The boys don't sleep well in the heat, and have been climbing into our bed in the middle of the night.
I burn, not tan.
It must be 100x worse being heavily pregnant. I'm only 3 months gone and still feel very sorry for myself.

I don't like the heat! I think there's something wrong with my metabolism, don't mind it as cold as you like, but I can't bear the heat. Actually I think maybe it's the humidity, as I can cope with dry heat just not this sticky weather. Went to see Take That last night and the heat was stifling even at 10 pm - I thought I was melting.

On the weather the other night, 28 degrees was described as "warm". Eh? Hot, surely?
