and not the cat flap?! He always comes during dd's nap time and the noise of him punching the cat flap open wakes her up EVERY TIME.

He then walks through my back garden to get to next door. Grr.

AIBU?

Yes, tell him. That would be best. But if you don't want to (am assuming if you haven't just told him about it by now, there is a reason you don't want to?) , you could lock the catflap, or, if it doesn't lock, when he is due, wedge something in front of it so that it cannot swing even a little bit and remove it after he has gone!

I wonder why he does it, surely it's more effort to bend all the way down to the cat flap?

are you sure your letterbox works? lol

the traipsing across the garden pisses me off too. our postman used to do it as well, until we built a wall round the garden lol

t the last house i lived in the Postman was the most miserable, rude man i have ever met, we were his first selivery of the day and we are constantly getting tons of parcels for ds from Postpals.

He used to throw my post agains my door from the garden gate

He said it was to dangerous for him to come in becuase we had 6 chickens running about.

He did latyer start coming in and putting the letters through the letter box but still left parcels in a heap on the door mat, he then let our dog out and it ran into the main road and died.

But anyway back on the point i would say something or tape a note to your catflap saying 'cats only no post through here please.'

This would annoy me too, also have the postman traisping over the front garden to get to next door, and we have a wall and a hedge between our gardens!

It's not so much the traipsing over the garden (he does no damage or anything) but he comes right across our living room window and always has a nosy in, I never know whether to hide or lift my top up!

Are your chickens armed Charlee?! poor dog.

I've tried locking the cat flap but he doesn't seem to have gotten the hint...

I'll speak to him tomorrow. I hate confrontation

i used to deliver papers (not quite the same thing) but would never have dreamt of using someone's garden to get to next door - it's very rude imo

nataliejane, you need a bigger wall! ours is soon to be topped with some fence to prevent small children escaping too. no way postie will be able to scale it pmsl.

eilidhfi, I am sure it'll be fine. just say something like "oh, could you please not post stuff through the catflap, only it wakes dd up" am sure he'll understand.
and if he doesn't, well, then he is bonkers
