I've just been made redundant from a lovely little job been there 4 years, only because my fabulous boss couldn't afford to employ me anymore. Will still go in once a month to help out. No real financial losses for a couple of months and an interview pending on Monday.

Anyway he took me out for lunch, had a glass of wine, finished early, got petrol and a bottle of red was winking at me. Hence 4.30 in the afternoon and a bit Swiffy, DD having dinner at her nans. AIBU to finish the rest of the bottle?

Thanks, I knew it was OK TBH I fancy a bit of a break. It was a part time job still have another one, but will only survive without the extra hours until christmas. The company was a victim of the credit crunch but the nicest boss I've ever had .

Sorry to hear this.

but 'little job' is a crap phrase.

My mil always asks me how my 'little job' is.

My dh tries to explain it took me 4.5 years to train for it, but to my mil I will always have a little job.

TDWP, I knew that as soon as I posted that it was the wrong phrase. I had 2 part time jobs making up full time. Its one that I've lost. It wasn't little really but certainly stress free, the nicest job I've ever had. I'm a single mum, sole bread winner etc.

Chesirekitty, apologies to you too. It was half my income so to describe it as 'little' was unforgiveable of me, don't know what came over me, perhaps the red wine

go for it. Get another one if you can. As long as your DC are ok then nothing else matters! Its only an odd occasion anyway!

Cheers, reckon I will be asleep by about eight which is bad as 'Walk the line' is on E4 at 9, plus something else on More 4 at 10 that clashes, so don't want to miss one.

No need to apologise to me, eve. My mil just does it to annoy me. I now ask her how her 'little life' is going on. meow, meow.

Hope you find a job soon. There are loads of christmas jobs going which might tide you over for a few months whilst you are looking for a perm part-time job.

Have you started that 2nd bottle yet? Am about to open my 1st. (On hols this week).

No not yet but I'm having a bit of a binge tonight, maybe see you if anyone opens the Baaar later on. I am very embarassed about saying it was a 'little job' I think I was trying to say it as a term of endermount (sp) because I loved it so much.

I'm quite gutted.

Don't be gutted eve, you have every right to express yourself the way you want. You where not hurting anyone else. Be gentle with yourself.

Can you not extend your hours in your 2nd job to make up the shortfall?
