AIBU?

to be annoyed at inconsiderate dog owners?

Ok venting here but I am just so hacked off and irritated now!
I have just gone for my 36 week antenatal check and thought I would walk to the Drs as its not very far and the exercise would be nice... all well and good except the first thing I do is tread in some dog crap - not on the street, but on the shared front path of our building (which is why I wasn't even looking for it) which means that someone has let their dog into our garden for a crap (nb. no one in these flats owns a dog) Ive got pretty mild SPD but ye gods, doing that bloody scrapy-foot-on-the grass-and-gravel-thing to try and get rid of it really felt sore, then the rest of my walk and antenatal appt was acompanied by a gentle miasma of dog shit, and now to cap it off the only trainers my oedematous feet can comfortably fit into are in the wash, so I can only hobble out in uncomfortable shoes until theyre dry and I know theres much bigger pictures and problems in the world but all this minor irritation could have been avoided if some selfish dog owner had thought - oh I'll not let my dog crap in someone elses garden! or even consider cleaning up after their mutt. PS I am not currently a dog owner but have been for many years, dont blame the dogs but sometimes get so annoyed at inconsiderate humans!
Excessive? Petty? Irritable? overeacting? or just pregnant - probably all of the above but unreasonable?

I hate dog owners who leave dog crap everywhere. The road to our school is regularly an assault course of poo and ds had stepped in it twice. I'm a dog owner, but always pick it up.....it's not difficult to do (although a bit unpleasant!)

YANBU - completely, totally & utterly.

If I ever find the twat that keeps letting their dog crap right outside our front gate they will be getting it posted through their letterbox.

Animals should stay in the countryside where they belong. Even if the owners clean up it's only getting rid of the bigger lumps.

no yanbu
other crime is to let dogs that they can't control off the lead in places where they can bound up to small children and scare them rigid.

This really, really winds me up.

Not only is it unpleasant, but it is dangerous.

Being the mum of a constantly tantruming toddler, making sure my DD isn't throwing herself into a big steaming pile of poo whilst chucking herself all over the pavement just adds to the stress.

One of my pet hates is dog owners who pick it up into a bag, then discard the bag on the street.

oh i have this all the time walking dd1 to school as we cut through the park. i tell her all the time how dirty it is but didnt realise how much she paid attention untill she yelled "thats very dirty you know. you are disgusting. you should clean up your doggies poo. you are not fit to own a doggy. there is a doggy poo bin just there look. we always clean ours up. mummy takes nappy bags with us to pick it up with and we put it in the special bins. what if a small child falls over and lands in it?" to a man who had just walked off after letting his dog shit on the path. the man went bright red and muttered an apology along the lines of "i usually do it but i have forgotten the bags this time" i was very proud of dd1.

YANBU. at all. i am a dog owner and wouldnt dream of doing this. its not nice having to pick it up but its one of those things that you have to do if you choose to keep dogs. like walking them in all weathers.

OH GOD i really hate this too, we live by a river strewn with dog poo too, the other day, I watched as a man arrived with this HERD of dogs , who just ran accross the grass, crapping at will, and he didnt clean up any of it. I dont know if i was more annoyed at myself for not telling him to clean it up (chickened out, he looked a bit menacing!!) or him for just being so bloody irresponsible. MInutes earlier, ds's were throwing the grass cuttings about and rolling down the hill, right there whey they'd pood

YANBU at all! I have just scraped the 10th pile of shit off my front garden although i dont know if its a dog or cat who has suddenly taken a liking to using it as its private shithole!!.

I need ideas to make this culprit find another place to lay its waste pls!

Of course YANBU. Dog poo is vile at the best of times, but when you are pregnant ...yuck.

I recently saw a couple walk away from the poo that their dog had just done on the pavement - I stopped them and asked if they were going to clear it up. They looked at me most apologetically and said they didn't have a bag with them. I searched in my bag and found a spare plastic bag and gave it to the man - the girl burst out laughing. They made a half hearted attempt to clear it up. I explained to them that leaving poo really isn't pleasant because my children walk daily along that road.

How awful though to experience this in your own garden.

was at a beach yesterday with teh girls - flippin' dog poo everywhere.

i don't like dogs as it is, but i can't abide owners who can't be arsed to clean it up.

i think the council should bring back environmental wardens, hire them from teh same place as knobbish parking wardens, and instantly fine anyone who lets their foul and doesn't clean up at £500 on the spot fine.

I'd put in a vote for environmental wardens! And give them the same sixth sense that parking wardens have when they just know that i have parked illegally for just a split second!
