Our neighbours are classic double-income no kids types. Late 30s/early 40s all trendy asymetric hair, open-top Mini, Juicy Couture trackies and Uggs. They're in their garden with their mates screaming shouting and singing, all pissed up. Not just a bit of music, we can't hear the telly, there's bouts of sudden screaming, whooping etc. We have a 16-month-old trying to sleep, and they do know we have a baby. So, AIBU to want to kill them, or at least say something? It's Friday, saturday and Sunday nights every week, they never go out.
Are we old fuddy-duddys or are they arseholes?

Try to speak with them in the week but I doubt it'll make a difference.
But be honest does it actually keep your 16 mo awake? Or does it just stop you watching Midsommer Murders whilst eating jellied fruits?

What time does it go onto? Afaik up until about 11pm is considered reasonable by Environmental Health. (unless it is so bad that it is affecting the whole street?)

Er, I don't quite know what jellied fruits are. Are they like the eels? Or are they those sugar-coated things that aren't real fruit.
We barely see them, but one night we did say something, and that night was different, but we can't keep poking our heads over the fence every night.
and yes, a little part is jealous and also feels like I'm just a geek compared to them.
But still, DS has just woken up again, and its beyong 'normal' noisiness.

Don't be jealous, they sound like knobbers. Most people grow up and fill their lives with new things like dc but some don't
The point is, is their level of noise making actually a problem or have you become nightmare sleep deprived parents of pfb?
If you honestly haven't then you need to have a proper chat with them sometime in the week when they are sober and reasonable.
If you have tut loudly, pass the jellied fruits and turn the telly up

Get a good opera cd (preferably with very high soprano parts) and play it at 7am. Every day. Until they learn.

Worked for us. We haven't sang along with mates in our back garden since next door pulled that out of the bag.

Well when your baby inevitably wakes up at sunrise then go into the garden and play all your favourite Cbeebies CDs at full blast. You have to train them out of their bad ways. Anyone with their own decks need all the punishment that life gives them.

Did u ever consider that when ur baby crys it wakes them up? not denying they sound like twats but sometimes I love to blast the music during the day time whilst cleaning and my neighbours are forever knocking on the door complaining even thou there Daughter wakes me up at 5am ever morning with her crying and them arguing or banging around hmmm food for thought. I think u should nicely express that they are being very noisy and your baby is sleeping if this does not work and they are making noise after 11pm then call the old bill as they can shut them up
