please do not let the fact that you hate/love Big Brother cloud your judgement.

right ok i will try and keep this as brief as poss.

All week i have been telling DH that i am looking forward to the final tonight and that please can we watch it even though he is not normally interested. He was absolutley fine about it.

anyway MIL (also not a fan of BB) is staying for the week.
i was upstairs getting changed this evening and DH popped his head round door to ask if i was interested in watching a film with them that he had recorded on Sky +.

I said don't forget about my programmes that I want to watch and he said well i can record the final for you and you can watch it later or tomorrow.

clearly not happy about it but they have gone ahead and are watching the film anyway.

feel really gutted was looking forward to it all week and now i am waiting for the film to finish that they could watch anytime as its a recorded one.

perhaps it's the principle that is getting to me here - i feel as though what i wanted is not important and my feelings have been pushed to one side as not important.

right ok - verdict please...

additional info that might be necessary for you to make an informed decision...wink

i am 34 weeks pregnant and hormonal

Imo obv.

I hate BB, but you had booked the tv in advance.

SlartyBartFast Fri 05-Sep-08 20:26:49

why didnt you put your foot down at the time??

Carmenere Fri 05-Sep-08 20:27:24

This is why you need two tv's.

CatIsSleepy Fri 05-Sep-08 20:27:33

it's a bit mean of them I reckon

Elmosgirl Fri 05-Sep-08 20:27:48

Well if it were me i'd have been annoyed too but would have just left them to their film and watched the final on the TV in my bedroom.

I guess that only works if you have another TV.

Your mil hates it. Guests wishes come first. That's the rule grin

SlartyBartFast Fri 05-Sep-08 20:29:18

have you been watching it all this time?

psychomum5 Fri 05-Sep-08 20:29:29

pregnant woman always wins.

noonki Fri 05-Sep-08 20:31:21

I hate BB but YANBU

at 34 weeks you should get whatever you want,

go and sit on them

tellmehonestly Fri 05-Sep-08 20:33:56

we have one tv only

suppose i was a bit shocked when he asked to watch the film.

i am a bit of a wimp when it comes to confrontation with MIL. blush

tellmehonestly Fri 05-Sep-08 20:35:50

been watching it from the beginning.

i record it every night so DH does not have to watch it - thought that was a bit unfair to make him watch it every night for 3 months

- although i do sit through countless footy matches hmm

SlartyBartFast Fri 05-Sep-08 20:36:33

when is mil going?

tellmehonestly Fri 05-Sep-08 20:38:22

DoubleBluff Fri 05-Sep-08 20:39:03

If 2 people dont want to wwatch BB and one does, majority rules IMO!

Anna8888 Fri 05-Sep-08 20:39:19

I don't think you ought to get as involved as this in any TV show.

Step back a little smile

LoveMyGirls Fri 05-Sep-08 20:39:26

The next tiem there is a footy match make sure you record it and put somethign else you've recorded on instead. He's been an arse but then he'd have to stand up to his mum and men don't tend to do that, they'd much rather a row with their wife.

poissonfou Fri 05-Sep-08 20:39:32

hate bb tbh however i am presently sitting here while my dp watches is the fianal !!
yanbu preggers or not

ClairePO Fri 05-Sep-08 20:39:54

YANBU, they should have let you watch it because you expressed such a preference to see it and said in advance.

tellmehonestly Fri 05-Sep-08 20:42:35

calming down a bit now - some of your posts have made me giggle

LOL at the thought of me going in there and sitting on them

suey2 Fri 05-Sep-08 20:42:51

YANBU- you got dibs. And PG- surely 'oh, i'm really tired, can i watch bb and you finish watching the film tomorrow' would be only fair?

Dropdeadfred Fri 05-Sep-08 20:44:59

TBH I do think if you have a guest they shouldn't be made to watch shite like BB if they wouldn't normally....

nowirehangers Fri 05-Sep-08 20:56:25

possibly you should be polite and let your mil watch a film
But I totally sympathise - if you're looking forward to the final of something it's a big deal, esp if you are heavily pregnant! I was furious when bil was staying on the night of the final of the apprentice and sat next to me making sarcasic comments about it, totally destroying my enjoyment. So on balance yanbu!
