She said to her son who was about 5 but whilst looking at me as she walked past me on the path back from the beach "....no, and you musn't pick wild flowers must you poppet...". It wasn't what she said but how she said it (v patronising). My DS had just picked a dandelion.

I am really not a paranoid person, I know she was directing it at me. And I do know you mustn't pick wild flowers but dandelions are pretty prolific, are they not?

saggy...i cannot stand the smugness either....as I struggled on a low sofa to feed she came over to pick up some shoes and said, over her shoulder, i could have had a chair you know....really? could I? do you feel better now for being a cow? bitch...(she had no free chairs by the way...all full of braying hair flickers...)

We went camping last week and 3 times other parents were a bit snotty. Bad run? Are parents becoming more unfriendly/judgemental of other parents?

My DH let our DS (nearly 7) have a sip of his Coke and another Mum said "he won't sleep tonight, you may a s well have given him Red Bull". WTF???? Her kids were merrily slurping away gets on Fruit Shoots....

Really gets my goat that we can't all just chill and live and let live without the need to point score to make ourselves feel better.

I don't think it's particularly parents who are becoming more unfriendly/judgemental, I think it's just people in general.

Lardy - Absolutely nothing wrong with reigns, I'm going to get some for my DD when she does eventually move her bum off the floor! Safety comes first!

Definitely nothing wrong with reins, I am going to get some for my 16 month old dd as she is so fast off the mark! Without doubt they are better than her running into the road.
It annoys me that some parents feel it is their right to pass judgement on others, and always in such a condescending tone. Sod off and mind your own business you braying hair flicker! (Never heard that saying before but I like it!!)

Exactly cadelaide, had he even got close to a poppy (not that there were any) or any other wild flower then I would for stopped him but a blinking dandelion!!!!

As for reigns, I did buy them for my DS1 but never really needed them, with DD she is a lazy bugger and happy to sit in the pram but DS2 is all over the shop and he wears them for his safety!

I had an awful experience on the 'other side' not long ago - was at a soft play centre - in th eball pool with ine and a little boy who clearly had some special needs grabbed the full squash jug off our table onto the floor and then started licking it off the floor (I have never been so mortified for the child, the mother or myself) - at which point I shouted to the mother (nicely) and she went and picked him up. She then apologised and asked if I wanted the jug replaced - so I said yes. This obviously made her cross, she bought another and stormed out I didn't feel bad for asking for another jug as would have done so myself if my child had done it to someone else.

To the braying hair flicker who cruised past my car, wound her window down and said to the child in the passenger seat 'these people who use disabled spaces just because they have to get buggies out of the boot and aren't really disabled'. Like I am not allowed to be a mum because I am disabled.
Pass was clearly displayed in windscreen. I think she just saw double buggy and came to the wrong conclusion. I still wanted to ask her if she was the f**king parking police.

Can I add one slightly off vein - there was a lovely lady at a castle we went to on hols who actually congratulated me on having ds in reins and telling dd she could not buy yet another toy!
