AIBU?

to expect my husband to come home from the pub when he says he will?

DH has fucked off to the pub, said he would only be an hour as we are having a party for DS tomorrow so means we have to get up early to get everything ready. He should have been back by 11pm, it's now 12.30am and no sign of him. Means that I am now going to have to get up early myself and get it all sorted out whilst he lies in with a hangover. Just feel so angry with him all the time, know we're going to end up having an argument when he gets back.

leave a pillow on the frontstep and lock the door

Don't have an argument with him then - wait till tomorrow and bring it up then. Easier said than done I know.

Actually I like CVQ's idea in hindsight.

Hi, sorry, hope it goes ok. How old will ds be?

Just answering to support you really but I have nothing else to say rather than it's so typical when you need them. No doubt you will get on with it tomorrow and I hope his head hurts! Make him get up and do his stuff though!!

If he doesn't don't let it spoil ds' party. x

i'm with CVQ.

how feckless and immature is that, to go out on the lash when you know you have to get up for your son's party the next day?

i'm so glad i'm not married to someone that thoughtless. because it wouldn't last long.

you know how you are supposed to understand what your toddler is capable of and not expect them to do more? well dh's are like this and they are simply not capable of sticking to timelines when it comes to the pub. It's not personal, he just can't help it. . Mine does this too on occassion.

I'd go to bed before he gets in. There's no point in starting an argument at this time. It will just make matters later and worse. But I would be getting him up first thing. No hangover cures allowed either.

and start the day by cooking a big greasy fry up

I wish I had the balls to leave his pillow on the doorstep!! He is a thoughtless and not capable of being mature and responsible. Why did I only find this out after a few years of marriage. DS is 1 tomorrow.

I am in bed right now but you know when you know you should go to sleep but you're so wound up you can't and anyway he will wake me up when he gets in!

  1. Set alarm/mobile with Very Loud Ringtone next to ear.
    2)Ditto baby monitor
3)Start hoovering very loudly at 7am
4)Traipse across bedroom and fling open curtains and declare loudly "Well its a beautiful day for DS birthday,We had better get cracking with opening his presents and preparing for his party,my lovely darling husband" (Evil grin emoticon)

Wouldn't it be nice if just for once maybe he would be the one that gets up first to get everything sorted out. Sometimes I just feel that I can't cope with it all and he just adds to my misery. I really wish I hadn't married him.

He used the downstairs toilet and now he's up the stairs and using the one up here - think he may be throwing up. What a twat. I married a complete twat.

He just sauntered into the bedroom like the second coming of christ in only his boxer shorts - just told him to go to the spare bedroom. No doubt i will be picking up the rest of his clothes tomorrow morning from wherever he discarded them.

My dp has just done the same, I feel your annoyance! He went out for his birthday treat at 11am then i met him until 1pm because he had forgotten the tickets for the football match, then at 12am I found out he still wasn't home (my brother was babysitting so i could go to my school reunion) so I came home but he still wasn't back then his sister phoned and said he'd left them at 12am and was walking home on his own so I started to worry so I went out looking with my brother (left his gf with dc's) eventually I got a call to say he was home, he's been sick and has fallen asleep on the bed. It was supposed to be his turn to get up, I'm having a cuppa while i calm down I'll talk to him tomorrow. He has mumbled sorry.

Ah,LMG I would cut him a little slack if it were his birthday treat,if its just a one off.Getting a@@@holed before your only childs first birthday is another thing entirely.
