AIBU?

Any medics willing to tell me if I have a UTI? Pic of test strip attached!

Can't get near the GP. I would be so grateful if someone can read this. I had a UTI last week, cleared it with antibiotics and now have similar symptoms again (after intercourse...). However last week there was blood in the urine and top square was deep lilac. I'm not sure what to make of this.

If you can help, thank you thank you.

Hold it next to the bottle to compare the colours. Then it literally tells you what is normal and what’s not- and by how much. You’re looking for nitrates to indicate a uti and possibly leukocytes and/or protein.

You could have an irritated urethra following intercourse…

Don’t compare the old strip- test again with fresh urine and give it two minutes to develop. Don’t pee on the strip. Pee in a clean container then dip.

Not every test strip is identical. You should take a photo next to the key.

I’m not in the medical field, but having read a fair number of these, I would guess that top cell is leucocytes and it’s positive, the question is how long ago was the sample done because it’s one that gets darker as time passes

I would guess the 4th cell is blood and that would also be positive if it is.

But again, you need the key. They are really simple to read.

Pharmacist should be able to sort this, you don't need GP.

I wasn't sure if the top was pink enough for leukocytes. The test was five minutes old when the picture was taken. (clear) Blood in the urine is four up from the bottom.

The key tells you when to read each section, some are at 45 seconds, some less/more. You need to follow that.

It’s positive for leukocytes, clear for blood, clear for nitrates.

I’d test again straight after a shower as leukocytes alone can be misleading. Are you still symptomatic?

Yes, still have lower abdominal tenderness and need to pee all the time.. it's been that way since 16 hours after having intercourse again.
