To think my DP wasn't being controlling and my friend is being ridiculous?

I've name changed for this. Been with DP for almost 5 years. He has asd. Our relationship is very good and he's a good dp. Today, we had planned to go to one of my friends’ house, there’d also be about 5/6 other people including my friend and her DH. DP was having a bad day today and he told me he didn't want to go but I could go if I wanted. I decided not to go either, I told my friend and she called him controlling, and that he was stopping me from going alone (he wasn't!) I told her this and she said that he seems like the controlling type (he doesn't, she hasn't really had many conversations with him either as he is very quiet). Aibu here? Or is my friend being ridiculous?
