technically sister in laws

Hi, this is my first post. I’ll just get straight to it.. It was my first partners nephews birthday yesterday.. we don’t see them much, as life’s just busy for everyone. Anyway we went & my partners two brothers girlfriends are there (whenever we see each other we always get on fine) I’ve always spoken highly of them both I’ve been with my partner 10 years we have two kids so it’s not like we don’t know each other.. well I heard one of them say to the other “we will have to organise a play date together just me, you & the kids” but under her breath.. so I’m assuming I couldn’t hear her as I can’t think why else she’d whisper it.. I’m a very honest person. If someone is rude I’ll tell them straight but I was genuinely taken aback by it.. it was her sons party also, I couldn’t & wouldn’t have kicked off at a child’s party. But would anyone else think that’s rude? I’ve never ever done or said anything horrible to them in fact I’ve always been lovely to them & just myself so I don’t get it. Maybe I’m thinking too much in to it. But it struck me as extremely sly & I’ll be keeping my distance from now on. Anyone’s opinions ? Thank you sorry I know it’s so trivial with the way the world is but it’s genuinely bugging me I wish I’d have said something now & I think I probably will if I see them again.
