I have a secret I need to spill (divorce and home related)

Hello wise Mumsnet folks, I've got a secret and I have to tell someone as I can't do it in real life. I'm married to an abuser. It's mostly emotional/psychological but over the 5 years we've been together he's bruised me and pushed me around. He has children and I do not. We're married. I have asked (begged) for consideration over a million issues and his response has always been NO regardless of the request. It's not all been terrible and on the very rare occasion he's done something nice I'm reminded of it over and over again. He shouts at me most weekends - in front of his children who are not children anymore. They are very much like their father. I work and our finances are completely independent. He is wealthy and I am not. Our family home is his (I know I'm entitled to some of it but it was a relatively short marriage and his before he met me). I have zero interest in going after his money I only want to be free of him. This thread isn't about getting money out of him as I truly truly don't want that. I have managed to save enough for a small house on a shared ownership scheme. I exchanged today!!!!! I am so excited but slightly nervous. He knows nothing of it. I haven't bought a thing for it as I didn't want to count my chickens also I have nowhere to put anything yet. Now I need to use the small amount of money I have left over after deposit and solicitors costs to get set up. I need a bed, a settee and a fridge first. The rest will come. It has a cooker in it already. I'm early 50s and feel 21. I'm so very excited to be starting again. I never want another man in my bed as long as I live! AIBU for keeping this secret?
