Have a mum in 4th stage lung failure. This is the one movie I avoid, but when I do see I find it very therapeutic in a weird way, cry tons, feel a bit better for some chance to get some grieving thoughts done pre her actually being gone. Feel bad even writing that down. All so raw, anyone else. Love a bit of Cher, ABBA and a wonderful cast.
Xx

I don't even have your 'excuse'. I watch it and don't even think of my mum but my children losing me and I cry.

I watched it two months after my dm passed away. It was very difficult

I watched this at the cinema in summer 2018 when my DM was seriously ill (rare few hours with my DD's away from hospital visiting). I sobbed in the cinema knowing what was to come with my own DM. My lovely mum passed away in the December and I've got a lump in my throat just typing this.

My mother is alive and well and it really gets me too.

Hope you’re ok OP Flowers

I watched it a month after my dad died of cancer. In the cinema with my incredibly stoical mum and my 8 year old DD. It was very, very hard. I’m sorry for what you are going through OP.

I saw this at the cinema with a friend. We've both lost our mums, we were sobbing wrecks. I wont watch it again!

Trying to think of it as a free therapy session. Know it’s better to get some of my emotions out. It one of the few films that I know, that is so disarming!! A lovey film and well done Netflix and it’s algorithm for knowing it would help me 😂 x

Why did they have to make it so bloody sad? The first one had such an upbeat feel to it. I saw the 2nd at the cinema, I’ll never watch it again 😭

My late wife was a big ABBA fan, and we watched this film together the morning before she went into the hospice for end-of-life care. She died five days later. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to watch it again.

Thanks to everyone on here who's lost someone.

And Thanks to you too OP. Starting to grieve ahead of the anticipated death of a loved one is a very normal process, but is ever so hard to deal with.

I watched it for the first time this afternoon. Put it on for a bit of inane, light, Sunday afternoon viewing and had no idea that the mum had died. Blubbed my eyes out, especially at the christening scene. I lost my mum the year before I had my first child, so I cried and cried this afternoon about the loss I feel of my mum never knowing my children and having children without your mum being there.

I wouldn't have watched it if I'd have known what the storyline was, but I guess it was also quite therapeutic to let it out.

Sorry for what you're going through, OP. It's really hard.
