My company says I can potentially go back to work on 22/29th this month however this obviously depends on how busy the business will be... furlough can be extended till October... so they keep telling me. I don't think they are taking the piss, but if there is not enough business I guess they can take advantage of the scheme. I do think they will have me back as soon as it's back to normal but my emotions are up and down and everywhere. Anyone else feels the same? I have been getting a lot of negativity from people who think my furlough is a fucking holiday - it is not - but I'm refusing to be miserable about it too and keeping myself as busy as possible. What have you been advised by your company when will you be back at work and how do you feel re furlough?

I've been on furlough since the beginning of lockdown. My company got in touch yesterday to say that there's still not enough work for me to go back, but with retail stores opening up in a couple of weeks (we manufacture goods for retailers) business should hopefully start picking up again. They are saying from July they may start bringing back people on a part time basis if needed.

Pre Christmas is our busiest time so hopefully by the time the furlough scheme ends in October business will be back to normal.

I hate it, I'm bored but as a single parent I suppose it's easier than trying to work and home school too.

I'm back at work tomorrow and dreading it. Others are still on furlough due to a range of issues (health, caring responsibilities, childcare)

In theory I could have remained on furlough but it feels like time to go back.

That it's ended. I went back on Sunday.
We can wear PPE but it's not enforced (it's a huge retail establishment by the way).
We are not allowed any time off now for the summer months.
And we have to control customers , we are all responsible for our safety and those not adhering to rules (also encouraged to report on each other...)

I've been told not to expect a job to go back to and suggested I should start looking for other jobs, but keeping me furloughed as long as they can

I haven't had any communication from work so far. Summer is usually quiet for us anyway - we deal with mostly schools and charitable organisations - so I doubt I will be back in until August or September at the very earliest.

I am arranging a catch-up with my boss later in the month so we can discuss it

I'm being "unfurloughed" on the 29th. I work for a large house builder.

I cannot wait - I'm dreading the state of the economy when we are out of this.

We’ve been furloughed until end of July, but are also in a redundancy process right now. There is more than enough work but sadly they are furloughing to the extreme. The general feeling is either people are exhausted or people are worried about their jobs. Or both!

I'm the opposite side, I'm hr! We have 3 on furlough, bringing one back pt in July assuming govt sticks to publish timetable to maintain building but until given permission to fully reopen have to keep rest on furlough. If govt doesn't get rid of all social distancing by October will have to lay all other staff off

One of our factories went back this week as did the warehouse, the site I work at have been told that we are to remain on furlough until the end of June. The last part of the email contained the words " although some production restructuring may be necessary if the market remains stagnant". Not looking good is it?

I'm on furlough, been on since lockdown.
I work in an independent school, not teaching, and I can't do my job at home.
Now schools have gone back, there are so few pupils at this little place that there's no need of most staff except the teaching staff so we remain on lockdown.....not surprising as I only work part-time hours anyway.

What I don't understand is the latest letter they've sent out to us. It suggests that lockdown may continue, if it does the amounts they will pay us will go down and down as the government amount reduces. But that any holiday pay will be at 100%. Since we break up at the end of June and our hours are annualised anyway, I have no idea what that means for the summer.

To be honest, I've only just started the job, haven't done much of it due to lockdown and I'm only part-time anyway, so I fully expect to be laid off by September anyway.

@wanderingmilly they're not supposed to reduce your furlough you get, employers need to top it up so you get 80% all the way.
