I know we’re all probably worried one way or another but today I’m feeling more down than usual. I’m in a different country to most of my family, but I worry constantly about them. I have an awful anxious feeling, I keep thinking I won’t see them again, and that there’s no more good times ahead. I’d be so grateful for any of you to give me some hope and positivity.

We are getting there - a vaccine is on its way and we will get back to some sort of normal(ish). Of course you will see your family again, but we all have bad days x

It's normal to feel like that. Especially if you're far from home.

Is your family all okay right now? If so, that's good news.

Are you healthy right now? Cos that's good news!

Is there some small way you could treat yourself, maybe a favourite meal or nice wine? Could you plan a little family picnic? Every sunday, I have an 'in case of emergency, break open bottle' special bottle of wine, to congratulate myself and reward myself that we've made it through yet another week of pandemic lockdown - which in turn means we're one week closer to the end of this shiteshow.

It's natural to worry, but the human race has weathered worse things than this virus. Even if we did nothing at all about it things would pick up again after a bit.

We have lots of different vaccine projects one of which will do the job. Meanwhile lots of people have had it so it's harder for the virus to spread and flourish. I look outside and see sunshine and children playing (They are fairly safe anyway) and even people washing their cars.

We are past the worst of it now. it's only online that the relentless flood of news from everywhere makes it seem so bad. You might want to turn it all off except for perhaps one update a day.

I recommend replacing watching the news with watching animal videos. it's working for me since I realised that I don't need hourly updates from some country I couldn't find on a map.
