Pregnancy jealousy

I know I'm being unreasonable. I have one and sadly doesn't look like we will be having a second any time soon. Will be mid/late 30s when it might be feasible which is a good 4/5 years away. Every time I hear of someone's pregnancy I just think of myself and how envious I am rather then just be happy for them.

Don't give yourself a hard time. I think it's natural to feel jealous of someone who has something you desperately want. ❤️

What's wrong with having a child in your mid to late thirties?

Don't worry - I get overwhelmed with jealousy sometimes - especially when I see little families with 2-3 siblings close in age. I have my moment and then I pick myself up and carry on - you can't let it bring you down

We'll be giving up on our dream shortly if this 5th and final round of IVF doesn't work (I'm 37)

Ministryoftragic that is just what it is. Would love another but just not feasible for us. Every time I hear of someone else's I'm reminded of this.

Nothing wrong with kids mid-late thirties. Very lucky to have my one. Just sad he won't have a sibling anytime soon. They'll be a large gap

Why is a big age gap a bad thing?

Are you sure there is nothing you can do to change your situation and make it happen ? Unless it’s a biological obstacle in which case I usually throw it to fate and say fate is doing what’s best, but if it’s a joint decision with DH might be time to have new conversations as it sounds like it means a lot to u

A friend of mine has just had her second and her son is 10 going on 11. She and her husband had their son relatively young and have now Just managed to get themselves in a position to afford a second.

^^ that's my situation, want to finish uni and get a better paid job. Definitely can't afford another now.

I couldn't afford a second until my first was 8 and ended up with a 9 year gap. It's tricky at times, but I'm hoping they will be there for each other as adults.
