Yes that's a good way of thinking about it. All those 3 am feeds and feeling like a zombie the next day. Now the pair of them are permanently attached to their beds during the holidays it's great

My moggy is ignoring me. I am on holiday and had many good intentions of doing stuff (and I have done some stuff this week just not as much as I was going to). Then I had a revelation! No bugger else in this house spends their holidays cleaning and painting so why the hell should I?

Instead, I have watched all the Star Wars films, in order. Just watching the last 30 minutes of the Last Jedi now. Then I reckon I've got 30 minutes until dd comes in from work.

I'm lying on the sofa with my legs up on the arm. In the gap between my legs and the seat there is a lakeland terrier, snuggled up to my bum, snoring.
