I keep getting calls from a company calling themselves Trading Solutions - it's been going on for the last 8/9 months and can be up to 12 calls a day. They often call from a London number so I ended up blocking all 0200 numbers which is not ideal but I got a month's peace. However, now they've started calling from mobile numbers. Every time I ask to be removed from their list, every time they tell me they will, but still I get the calls. I tried googling the company to report them but I can't find anything except other people with the same problem.

Ignoring calls from numbers I don't recognise isn't an option, in case it's something I need to deal with - e.g. family emergency etc.

I've had the same number for 10+ years so don't want to change it but I'm feeling like I'm left with no other way.

Useful information to include when making a complaint

When making a complaint, try to provide as much information as you can, including if possible:

the organisation which made the call;
the date and time of the call;
the telephone number that made the call; and
the nature of the sales/marketing that occurred during the call.

This information is valuable because it helps regulators to take more targeted action.

If it really is a family emergency or someone who really does need to contact me from a different number than usual they will leave a message.

I would write (via email) and send all the numbers - and obviously say why - to the office of the Information Commissioner. And sign up with the Telephone Preference Service if you handy already.

They sounds like absolute bloody nuisances. I've no patience with it these days. I've turned off the ringer on my landline and very few people know my mobile number - just friends, family and necessary contacts. I use email and social media for business mostly anyway.

I don't answer numbers i dont recognise, if it's a family member or a friend there name comes up on the phone.

Route all your landline calls through an answerphone.

Divert all incoming calls on your mobile to voicemail.

You can specifically change your answer phone/voicemail messages to say you are being harassed by telesales calls therefore you will not be returning calls to anyone who does not leave a message.

Thing is, if you’re answering the calls, all you’re doing is confirming that you’re a ‘live’ number. I’m afraid no amount of pleading with them is going to stop them calling you. If someone is calling with a genuine emergency, they’ll leave a message. You can let the phone ring and listen back straightaway to any message, rather than jumping to answer, presumably? It’s important to remember that these scammers don’t operate by normal rules!

I guess you're right in that if it was really important (like a family emergency) they would leave a message.

I'm not sure if TPS or ICO can do much as I'm pretty sure they're scammers and not a real company but will register a complaint with them - thank you.

I'd change your number. It's a hassle in the short term but think of the peace in the longer term.

If ever you get these calls don't engage with them at all. They're scammers, they're not going to care about whether they're breaching ICO guidelines, so asking them to remove your data achieves nothing, but it does tell them that there's someone there and you're open to conversation. If you do this your details get passed around as you're seen as a likely target.

I’m on the verge of changing my number because I get at least one spam call every day. I block all of the numbers but they still keep coming, often they’ll just change one digit... it’s a nightmare.
