...to move the date of my period rather than just delaying it IYGWIM

I'm due to go on the holiday of a lifetime in the easter holidays but I'm due on around the first day we are there (obviously!). I don't really want to have to remember to take 3 pills a day everyday while I'm away. Plus any hormonal medications make me a complete bitch to be around so not ideal on a family holiday!

I was thinking of taking the tablets to delay my March period by a few weeks so my period finishes just before my holiday so I won't come on while away but also won't be taking any medication- but does it work like that? Or does your cycle stay the same i.e. still come on again at easter? And am I messing about too much with my hormones?

Anyone with any medical knowledge about this sort of stuff-advice would be appreciated 😊

It unnaturally stops the bleeding, so not everyone would be able to delay their period.

Usually your period starts about three days after stopping taking it, if your looking to delay it.

Short term there isn't any harm in using it, to just change your periods.

I've done just that before. I generally have to be off norethisterone for between 1 day and 3 days before my period starts.

I hated it when I took it, it locked me in to my worst type of PMT. I think taking it a month early would be a really good idea, after I stopped taking it & got my period the following one was the normal gap.

I took it recently to delay it a week. Your period starts 3 to 5 days after stopping the medication and you start it 3 days before you are due and you would take it the whole time you would be on holiday only stopping it when you are ready to have your period. I had my 'delayed' period then my next period was exactly 4 weeks later so it does reset your cycle.

Your cycle length might change so it might not necessarily work the way you want it to
