AIBU?

To be horrified that there is 4 weeks left of the summer holidays?

Omg, 5 children - the mess, the whinging, the bickering, the expense...!
What a joy Hmm

I am a teacher, so there is no escape! We've been and returned from our holiday. We will do a few more 'big' days out...

Please say it's not just me. I love being a mum, hence 5 kids (!!), but AIBU to find the summer holidays hard?!

Only 3 weeks (and a teacher training day) here.

I’ve been working up until now so very happy to have the time off. (Both for having time off and for no longer having to deal with our complex childcare plans.)

Children are bickering constantly though which is starting to get a bit tiresome - they have never spent 22 consecutive days together before!

You are not alone. I only have two and already I have made myself a countdown calendar. I absolutely hate holidays this long.

I bloody love the summer holidays but mine are 11 and 13 and don't fight much and I only work 2 days a week in the holidays so I am getting lots of lovely lie ins. Sorry Grin.

Ours go back on the 20th August!
This year has actually been fab but I've been where you are, long days to fill (only with 1 child though, I think I'd be 6 feet under with 5 Shock).

Mine get 8 weeks and I'm thinking its not long enough!

BUT mine are now 12 and 15 and just do their own thing. I hated anything longer than a week's hol when they were younger.

Hang on in there! If I survived it so can you!

Yanbu. I have 5 too and we are really skint at the moment and without a car. Thank goodness the weather has been good so we can go in the garden with the paddling pool.

I have no idea when I go back to school!Confused. Suppose I better check the website. I was too excited to get out the door on 21st July to care. I'm reasonably certain I don't go back in August though, so that means still 3 weeks off - hurrah! (No kids to look after, so I'm like a pig in shit!Grin)

I've had a bit of light relief, DD went to my aunt's for 3 days then camp for 8, so I only had one DC, and he's the perfect child with no one to annoy! 😂 They go to holiday club every weekday afternoon, which helps.

Thank you for the vibes!!

When do the school holidays start in Scotland though? If the summer holidays are actually shorter, then I'm definitely moving!

We have 3.5 weeks and it's passing far too fast for my liking! I love the holidays

In Ireland. Kids finished in 22nd June and not back until 3rd Sept. The the first 3 weeks were the worst, but we're in a bit of a routine now. Although we've done literally everything by now, and still 3 weeks left. I've no idea how I'm going to entertain them.
